🥔 Let's Plan Thanksgiving Sides

Hello Reader,

Thanksgiving is still a few weeks away, but I'm getting a head start on planning!

Every Monday until Thanksgiving, I'll be sharing recipes to help you plan your holiday menu, starting with the side dishes. And if you ask me, they're one of the best parts!

I'm including a few family recipes that have been on our Thanksgiving table for more than 50 years, along with some other favorites you might want to try.

Thanksgiving Side Dish Ideas

🥖Homemade Sausage and Herb Stuffing - This family recipe from my Dad has been on our table for over 50 years! We make it throughout the year, but Thanksgiving wouldn't be the same without it.

🥘Slow Cooker Cheesy Green Bean Casserole - Twist on the classic! All that creamy, cheesy goodness without taking up valuable oven space. That's a Thanksgiving win!

🥔Creamy Garlic Mashed Potatoes - Rich, creamy mashed potatoes with just the right amount of garlic. Don't forget the gravy!

🧀Slow Cooker Creamy Mac and Cheese - This is my sister-in-law's recipe that's been around for 3 decades. We enjoy it all year, but it always has a place on our Thanksgiving table.

🍠Yummy Sweet Potato Casserole - My amazing mother-in-law's recipe for sweet potato casserole has been a family favorite for over 40 years. It's one of those dishes everyone expects to see at Thanksgiving!

🥦Broccoli Casserole in the Crock Pot - A creamy broccoli side dish that cooks while you're busy with everything else. Let the slow cooker do the work!

🥘Apple Butternut Squash Casserole with Bacon Pecan Topping - Sweet apples, tender squash, and a crunchy bacon-pecan topping. Something a little different for your holiday table.

A Little Thanksgiving Planning Tip

➡️Before deciding on your sides, check which recipes need oven space and which can go in the slow cooker. It's also a good time to stock up on pantry ingredients!

📢Coming Next Monday: We're talking make-ahead Thanksgiving Breads and Rolls! A little prep before the holiday can make Thanksgiving Day a whole lot easier.

My Favorite Thanksgiving Kitchen Items

These are kitchen items I own, love, and have used for years. They've held up, and they're worth every penny!

🥣Electric Hand Mixer– Mine gets a workout making mashed potatoes, casseroles, and more!

🍲 9×13 Casserole Dish with Lid – Perfect for baking, storing leftovers, and taking dishes to potlucks.

🍽️ 6-Quart Slow Cooker – A holiday lifesaver when oven space is limited!

🥄 Serving Utensil Set – Handy for serving all those delicious Thanksgiving sides!

I hope you found a few ideas to add to your Thanksgiving menu! I'd love to know: what's the one side dish your family absolutely has to have every year?
